Aamir Rizwan Qureshi
Director, Business Development

Aamir Rizwan Qureshi is a 25-year veteran in the development of projects in oil, gas and power sectors. Mr. Qureshi holds Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Finance. He started his career in the energy sector as an executer of an expansion project of National Refinery, one of the largest oil refineries in Pakistan. After successful completion of this project, he got involved in the master planning of the EPC of largest IPP of the time in Asia (1300 MW-HUBCO). While working with Siemens, Mr. Qureshi headed the mechanical construction of BOC gases plant, Pakistan’s largest Air Separation Unit at that time capable of producing up to 100 tons per day of Oxygen, Nitrogen and Argon. Later, he headed the electrical works of the Engro Vopak Terminal project, the state of the art facility for bulk liquid chemicals and LPG in Pakistan, which has been recently retrofitted as the first LNG Terminal of Pakistan. Working at the state owned gas utility, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), he introduced the modern corporate planning culture and developed the company’s first ever Five Year Business Plan. At SSGC, he also took initiative of formulating and successfully implementing the platform of ‘’Technical Advisory Services’’ responsible for efficiency evaluation of power plants and industrial units in Sindh and Baluchistan provinces connected with the gas utility. Prior to SSGC, Mr. Qureshi was associated with the planning of a number of local and international strategic initiatives and projects of Aga Khan University including the initiative of School of Nursing in Nairobi, Institute of Islamic Civilization in London, Self Power Generation, University of Arts & Sciences, AKU Sports Center and Women Residences in Karachi.

His latest assignment includes a senior executive role at K-Electric, one of the largest vertically integrated utilities in the world serving a customer base of 25 million people. With K-Electric, he holds the position of Director, Business Development. During his tenure at K-Electric, his role on fuel and power generation projects has contributed considerably for the turnaround of the Company. He is responsible for all gas related initiatives of the Company including arrangement of RLNG for the upcoming 900 MW, a mega project of K-Electric. He has initiated an international bidding process for 150 mmcfd RLNG following an integrated approach of supply chain under a private to private deal, first of its kind in Pakistan. He is working closely with prospective LNG terminal developers and international LNG suppliers and paving way for upcoming LNG terminals in Pakistan through future demand of around 500 mmcfd of RLNG for prospective power projects of K-Electric’s and associated independent power producers. Mr. Qureshi is also heading the Renewable Energy initiatives of the Company and engaged with global leaders in solar and wind power businesses to establish 300 MW of solar and wind projects for K-Electric. Other initiatives of Mr. Qureshi included developing a number of power purchase options while working closely with independent power producers.

A researcher of oil & gas upstream E&P in South East Asia and North Africa, JOGMEC He is a project director of Research Department with JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metal National Corporation). Before joining JOGMEC in 2017 as a secondee, he was Senior Coordinator of Logistics Division at INPEX being responsible for project logistics and procurement contract for Australian, Indonesian and Japanese Projects. He has experience with Toyo Engineerign Corpotation having handled with contractual matters. Mr. Kato holds an LLM degree in international trade law at Law School of University of Essex, England and Bachelor degree at Law School of Waseda University, Japan.

Jahangir Piracha is currently working as Chief Executive Officer- Engro Vopak Terminal Limited and Engro Ellengy Terminal Limited. In addition to this he is also the CEO of Engro Digital Limited. Prior to this he was the CEO of Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited. He has done multiple executive level roles with Engro Corporation in its Petrochemical and Fertilizer Businesses.

Jahangir has 27 years of corporate experience in functions like Manufacturing, Human Resource and Procurement. He is a Chemical Engineer by qualification. He is a Director on the Boards of Engro Vopak/Ellengy Terminal Limited, Reon Energy and Arabian Sea Country Club.

Adolfo Dindo Abueg

Dindo Abueg is a senior corporate banker with about 23 year background in Project and Structured Financing business.  He is currently based in Singapore and is responsible for building the Project Finance franchise of KDB in overseas markets.  Prior to KDB, he was with Natixis as Director for Structured Export Finance for South and South East Asia and with WestLB as Director for the Energy group.  He also worked with Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas in various roles as a Financial Adviser or Lead MLA.   Dindo started his career with Gas Ventures Advisers, a British Gas subsidiary that develops gas-related projects.  Adolfo has a Master’s in Public and Private Management from Yale University, USA.


Sandeep Mahawar

Sandeep is the Head of Commercial and a member of the Senior Management team at Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG). In his current role, Sandeep supervises a team of commercial professionals in the areas of Commercial Operations and Business Development.

Prior to joining SLNG in August 2013 Sandeep worked for BG Group for over 15 years in Singapore, UK, USA and Egypt in various commercial, M&A and business development roles covering the Upstream, LNG and Downstream segments of the energy value chain.

Sandeep started his professional career in the financial sector, working for Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in Singapore before moving on to the Energy Industry in 1998.

Sandeep represents Singapore in the ASEAN Council on Petroleum and is the vice chairman of one of its sub committees on Gas Advocacy. He was previously chairing the ASEAN Gas Consultative Committee. He is also a current member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and was in the executive committee of the Singapore Chapter previously.

Sandeep holds a First Class Honours degree in Economics from University College London.


Jose B. T. Aldon,

Mr. “Joe” Aldon, MD/CEO, AXI LNGAS Inc., has more than 30 years of relevant and diverse industry experience and has recently acted as the Senior Adviser, Natural Gas Business for a leading Philippine energy infrastructure company, First Gen Corporation. He had participated and was responsible for directing and managing the activities of a team of managers, technical staff, joint venture partners & consultants in the successful project development and the implementation of several critical infrastructure projects. The most recent involvement is an investment/acquisition exercise for a renewable energy project and an LNG infrastructure company. Before moving back to the Philippines, he had been working in Canada where he was involved in the identification, evaluation and execution of project proposals in his role as Director, International Business Development for TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. (TCPL). Assignments have included: leading and winning a $310 million natural gas pipeline bid for the financing, design, construction and operation of a privatized natural gas system in Colombia, South America; a $2.0 billion crude oil pipeline with British Petroleum and TOTAL of France; was involved and led the $1.4 billion proposal to build an offshore gas pipeline and a 1200 MW power plant in the Philippines. He had actively participated in several privatization (BOT & JV) projects in South America and SE Asia. Prior to his assignment as Director, Mr. Aldon was employed as the Manager, Project Services for TCPL, which undertook a US $4.0 billion expansion program in its North American system that open up the North Eastern US market for Canadian gas. Prior to being employed with TCPL, Mr. Aldon worked for fifteen years in the energy, infrastructure and construction industries in Asia, Saudi Arabia, North Africa, South and North America where he gained invaluable project management and operating experience. Joe holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and had taken Senior Executive Management courses and seminars. He has been very active as a Speaker and a Panelist in the local and international LNG and Natural Gas Circuit.


Saunak Rai

Mr. Saunak Rai is one of the Board of Directors of Norgas Carriers. He is presently heading the LNG Business Development and Commercial operations department. His main task is to create innovative LNG logistics solutions for customers of Small Scale LNG.

Mr. Saunak Rai is a licensed Master Mariner  and has extensive experience working on  LNG vessels, Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Container vessels. After completing his sea career , he joined shore office of Maersk LNG in Copenhagen,  where he was managing the commercial operations of Maersk’s LNG fleet. During his employment with A.P. Moller Maersk, Mr. Saunak represented Maersk in OCIMF,  as a part of Navigations and Routes Sub-Committee. He also represented OCIMF in IMO, participating in the E-Navigation sub Committee.

Mr. Saunak Rai graduated with President’s Gold Medal in Nautical Science from Mumbai University, and has completed his Master’s in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. During his MBA Mr. Rai, worked on Integrated Strategy Project on “LNG Bunkering”. He is also a certified Chartered Ship Broker and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers, UK


Nicholas Browne

Nicholas joined Wood Mackenzie in 2007 as a consultant in London. Based in Singapore since 2012, he currently leads two Wood Mackenzie Asia research teams:  Gas & LNG, and Power & Renewables. The teams provides commercial analysis on LNG, gas, renewable and electricity markets and trends across Asia. He also leads Wood Mackenzie’s global LNG Corporate research.

  • An energy markets and LNG specialist, he has advised on several major international infrastructure transactions and project financing engagements. He also completed projects across the gas value chain such as on gas monetization options, transport economics and market entry strategies.
  • Nicholas joined Wood Mackenzie from Total, where he worked on their gas & power trading floor, in addition to gas sales and marketing. Nicholas holds a B.A. from Trinity College Dublin, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD.

Mr Chandra’s extensive 30+ years international global gas experience includes roles in both large and small energy company, as well as government organizations. He has worked on commercial matters with LNG import, LNG export, as well as gas pipeline export projects.

He is the author of Fundamentals of Natural Gas: An International Perspective, and  has taught the popular Natural Gas Dynamics seminar, held over 30 times around the world, and developed apps for the LNG industry.

Mr. Chandra holds a degrees in Geophysical Engineering (Colorado School of Mines),  Petroleum Energy Management (University of Pennsylvania), Petroleum Economics (French Petroleum Institute (IFP)), and Commercial Law (Deakin University).


Chairani Rachmatullah

Ms. Chairani Rachmatullah, currently the Head of Oil and Gas Division of PT PLN (Persero), the State Electricity Company of Indonesia. She plays a key role in preparing fuelmix strategy for Indonesia electricity sector in line with the National energy Policy. Her primary responsibility is to secure oil and gas supply for power plants, with scope of work includes: planning, procurement, and monitoring for fuel oil, gas and LNG supply.

She is graduated from University of Melbourne majoring at Energy Studies, University of Indonesia majoring at Project Management and Sriwijaya University majoring at Civil Engineering. She has 25 years of planning experience in the areas of power plant’ s civil structures, corporate strategy, business development and primary energy supply and logistics covering gas, oil and coal.


Manish Tiwari

An Electronics Engineer with a Masters in Marketing, he has over 19 years of experience in trading & marketing of energy commodities. He started his career in energy commodity trading with trading in Crude Oil and Petroleum Products and quickly moved to LNG trading. He has worked with reputed multinational companies in the Oil & Gas sector and has an extensive track record in Crude Oil and LNG trading. He heads the Origination, Trading and Marketing function at H-Energy and is responsible for LNG sourcing, gas marketing and commercial operation management of LNG terminal projects in the company. He is additionally responsible for Natural Gas pipeline development and Corporate Communications for the company.
